Embarq cutting up to 700 job - will your job be cut next?

Telephone network operator Embarq Corp annoucned on Friday that it will be cutting 500 to 700 jobs which is about 4 percent of its work force.

Embarq also stated it was terminating about 300 contract positions to reduce expenses.

They expect all job cuts to be completed in the fourth quarter. The company’s shares were up 15 cents at $47.91 in afternoon New York Stock Exchange trade.
