Freightliner cutting 225 more jobs

Subsidiary of German automaker Daimler AG says it will be cutting 225 more jobs at its Gaffney plant.
Freightliner LLC announced just last month that it will layoff 100 layoffs workers.
The company says the layoffs are the result of decreasing customer demand.

Eclipse Lays Off 650 Workers

Eclipse Aviation announced on Friday it will cut back production of the Eclipse 500 very-light jet, as a result they are cutting about 650 jobs at the planemaker’s facilities nationwide.

Alcoa announces 300 layoffs at Texas facility

Alcoa Inc - U.S. aluminum maker said on Friday it will layoff of about 300 employees at its Rockdale, Texas, aluminum smelter. The company has idled half of its production because of power supply issues.
In addition, Pittsburgh-based Alcoa said about 100 contract employees will be laid-off.

Embarq cutting up to 700 job - will your job be cut next?

Telephone network operator Embarq Corp annoucned on Friday that it will be cutting 500 to 700 jobs which is about 4 percent of its work force.
Embarq also stated it was terminating about 300 contract positions to reduce expenses.

Diebold job cuts to begin Oct. 17

Diebold Inc. the maker of ATM and voting machines has notified the state it plans to shut down two Hebron facilities and cut about 100 jobs.
More than 60 affected workers will be let go by the end of November, while the last terminations will take place by February 27, 2009.
